East Northport Teen Dies At 17
Matthew Kyrillidis was a senior at Chaminade High School. His funeral was held on Thursday.
EAST NORTHPORT, NY — Matthew Kyrillidis, a senior of Chaminade High School from East Northport, died on Sept. 29. He was 17. His cause of death was not given.
His wake was held on Wednesday and his funeral Thursday, according to the school.
Kyrillidis was the beloved son of Christopher and Danielle, the loving brother of CJ, and the cherished grandson of Paul and Laura Kyrillidis and Joseph (The Late Carol "Ceci") Spargimino. He was the dear nephew of Kevin (Christina) Kyrillidis and Laura Marie Smith, and the great-grandson of Frank (Elizabeth Young) and the late Estelle Lutz, and Aspasia "Yiayia" Kyrillidis.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Matthew's memory to St. Anthony of Padua Parish or Chaminade High School, according to the Brueggemann Funeral Home.
"It is with deep sadness that the Chaminade Family announces the passing of senior Matthew Kyrillidis," the school wrote on Facebook. "May he rest in peace! Amen."
