Elwood 2024-25 School Budget Passes

ELWOOD, NY — Residents within the boundaries of the Elwood School District on Tuesday voted to pass the 2024-25 school budget by a margin of 652 votes to 287.

The district's budget is $76,760,609, up 5.04 percent from last year's. The tax levy is $53,142,763, up 2.02 percent.

Proposition 2, to expend $500K in capital reserve for districtwide security enhancements and the purchase of districtwide maintenance and grounds vehicles, passed by a vote of 714 to 213.

For the Board of Education’s two open seats, currently held by incumbent members James Tomeo and Heather Mammolito (not seeking reelection), Tomeo received 717 votes and Walter Edwards received 620 votes, both running unopposed.
