Elwood Students Shine on Stage
Students, faculty and staff members brought the production to life.
From Broadway to the Elwood-John H. Glenn High School stage, students performed their rendition of the classic American musical “Guys and Dolls” on Friday, Feb. 6 and Saturday, Feb. 7.
Set in Damon Runyon’s mythical New York City, “Guys and Dolls” is an oddball romantic comedy that takes the audience from the bustle of Times Square to the dance clubs of Havana and even to the sewers of New York City, demonstrating the great lengths to which a guy will go when he truly falls in love with a “doll.”
The combine efforts of students, faculty and staff members brought the production to life with spotlights, costumes, dance routines, musical performances and more. In addition to the cast of talented student-actors, the musical featured well-known hits such as, “Luck Be a Lady Tonight,” “I’ve Never Been in Love Before,” “If I Were a Bell” and “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat.”
