'Fearless' Meeko: Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week
Meeko, a 1-year-old male, is a "very special kitty," as "everyone who meets him falls in love."

NORTHPORT, NY — Meeko, a 1-year-old male, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kitten of the Week.
Meeko, born May 9, 2024, was only a few days old when he was rescued in a store parking lot, said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue association.
"He is gentle, sweet and petite, although you would never know it with his luscious long hair and amazing fluffy tail!" Wild said.

Meeko’s back legs are a bit bowed, a condition called "cow hocks," according to Wild.
"This is not serious," Wild said. "He has some weakness in his back legs that will show if he jumps from high places. When he lands, his legs can cross and he can sometimes fall over. Meeko doesn’t know that anything is different about him and nothing stops him — he is a fearless boy!"

The best home for Meeko, Wild said, would be a home without young children or other rambunctious fur babies.
"However, Meeko would LOVE a gentle, calm and sweet dog to cuddle up with," she said. "Meeko is a very special kitty, everyone who meets him falls in love."

He is currently at Petco Huntington just waiting for his happily ever after.
Meeko is neutered, has all his shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
