Flash Flood Warning In Western Suffolk

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A flash flood warning is in effect for Western Suffolk County, the National Weather Service announced on Tuesday.
Towns that may experience flooding, according to the service, include Commack, Huntington Station, Huntington, Northport, Melville, Centerport, Cold Spring Harbor, East Northport, Kings Park, Greenlawn, Elwood, Fort Salonga, South Huntington, West Hills and Sunken Meadow State Park.
The flash flood warning was placed in effect until 4 p.m.

Thunderstorms may bring heavy rain of 1 to 2 inches to the above towns. Flash flooding is happening now or is expected to begin shortly, according to the National Weather Service.
Small creeks and streams, highways, streets, and underpasses could be affected.
