NORTHPORT, NY — Laverne and Shirley, 6-month-old bonded sisters, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.

Laverne and Shirley are calico kittens with tabby markings.

"They were rescued by a kind gentlemen who found them scared, cold and alone," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. "He called NCRA for help, and they went into a very loving foster home with children and even a large dog! They have the most gentle and playful disposition and get along with everyone."

"In fact, if you put in an application between now and our event, we will waive the adoption fee for the second kitty!" Wild said. "Please help us empty the habitats, some of our furbabies have been waiting so long!"
