'Gentle Soul' George: Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week

NORTHPORT, NY — George, a 1-and-a-half-year-old male cat, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kitten of the Week.

A woman found George roaming the streets of Brentwood, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. The woman brought him to the rescue.

"This petite sweetheart is such a gentle soul, everyone who meets him falls in love," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. "He is sweet and extremely affectionate."

George is very vocal and will have a full blown conversation with anyone who will engage with him, according to Wild.

"He is silly and playful and gets along great with other cats and dogs, too," she said. "What George likes best is sitting with his human friends and snuggling. Whoever adopts George will never regret it."

George is currently at Doggie Don’s in East Northport and "has been waiting way too long," Wild said.

"He loves visitors, so please come on down and meet him!" she said.

The Northport Cat Rescue Association is set to host an adoption event this Sunday, June 1, at Sweet Arts candy store in Northport Village from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The address is 105 Main St., Northport.

"Bring your entire family down to meet some amazing kitties, including George, while enjoying this beautiful candy store!" Wild said. "Please share with all your friends and help us get a great turn out for this event!"

George is neutered, has all his shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
