'Irresistible' Harlem: Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week
Harlem, a 9-month-old male, was found in a duffle bag with another cat, "thrown out like yesterday's trash." Would you like to meet him?

NORTHPORT, NY — Harlem, a 9-month-old male, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association’s Kitten of the Week.
He is the "most gentle and sweet kitten," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.
Harlem and his friend, Brooklyn, were found by a fireman in Harlem, in a duffle bag near a garbage bin outside of a building, Wild said.

"Thrown out like yesterday’s trash," she said. "If they were not crying for help, they would never have been saved."
Brooklyn was pregnant and went into foster care and had her babies in safety, according to Wild.

"She has been an incredible mommy, and her kittens and Brooklyn will be available for adoption soon," Wild said.
Harlem went into a loving foster home, and he is "thriving," Wild said.
"He is silly, loving, affectionate, snuggly and adorable," she said. "He loves everyone and other cats, too. He is irresistible when he makes his air biscuits, and he just melts your heart. Animals are amazing…such a horrific past, and yet, he holds no resentment…showing the world how forgiving and innocent these beautiful creatures are."

Harlem is currently at Petco Commack, waiting patiently for his forever home.
"He is a real treasure, and anyone who adopts him will never regret it," Wild said.
Harlem is neutered, has all his shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
