NORTHPORT, NY — Dice, a male born around January 2024, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cat of the Week.

"Just look at that silly face!!" said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue, in an email.

Dice was originally supposed to be a "trap and release" kitten when he was found with a colony of cats, according to Wild.

"While recovering from his neuter surgery, we discovered that he was a calm and loving gentleman, who looked at us with pleading eyes of help," Wild said. "With his gentle nature, there was no way we could put him back on the streets, so into foster care he went."

Dice was shy at first, according to Wild. He was given the time he needed to decompress, and his "personality emerged."

"He is sweet and loves to be pet, including leg rubs!" Wild said. "He absolutely LOVES other cats and should go to a home with some fur friends. Even though Dice is not a kitten anymore, this sweet boy is still so young! His personality is here to stay, what you see is what you get. He has gone through a lot at such a young age and is just looking for a place to finally call home."
