Police Log: Cocaine Possession, Noisy Bar Complaint, Oven Fire

Tuesday, Feb. 13
At 2:17 p.m. police reported that a man had a nail in his cheek on Fort Salonga Road. Northport Rescue responded and transported him to Huntington Hospital.

At 9:57 p.m., police responded to a report of a father and son fighting on Maple Avenue. The man said he had a verbal dispute with his son after the son used bad language in his house. No criminal activity was reported.

At 9:12 p.m., a 25-year-old Greenlawn man was arrested for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Woodbine Avenue. Police say the man was seen in a 2010 Honda Accord in Scudder Beach after hours. Police approached the vehicle and saw a ziplock baggie that contained a white powder, which field tested positive for cocaine.
Sunday, Feb. 18
At 12:54 a.m., police responded to ArToro Restaurant and Tequila Bar on Main Street for the report of excessive noise and music. Officers spoke to the owner and told him the music needs to be off at 11 p.m. The owner turned the music off and was warned that a summons would be issued in the future.
At 9:44 p.m., police responded to a Maple Circle location for the report of flames and smoke within an oven. Northport Fire responded to the scene and determined that the smoke is a normal occurrence while the oven is self cleaning.
Tuesday, Feb. 20
At 1:39 p.m., police received a report that Northport Village trucks, while sanding the roadway on Stanton Street, hit a car with sand, damaging the hood of the car on Saturday Feb. 17.
