Police Log: Drunk Youths Knock On Wrong Door, Possible Overdose Leads To Fall

Here are recent incidents reported in the Northport Police Department log.

Thursday, Aug. 24

At 5 p.m., police responded to CVS, located on Fort Salonga Road, for reports of petty and grand larceny.

At 8:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a possible motor vehicle accident at Constitution Square. The driver told police she was unaware if she hit a vehicle or not. A witness said the driver of a Honda struck a Lexus. An officer left a note on the parked vehicle and was unsuccessful in making contact with the registered owner.

At 9:11 p.m., police received a report of loud music in the area on Woodbine Avenue. Police determined the source of the music was the concert in Village Park.

At 4:26 p.m., police responded to a report of a group of youths causing a disturbance on Franklin Street. Officers located the youths and interviewed them. The youths, who were intoxicated, said they thought this was their house and were knocking on the door to get in for the night. They were warned and admonished for the actions and were led to the proper residence.

Saturday, Aug. 26

At 12:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a man with injuries from a fall at Northport Liquor & Wine, Inc. on Fort Salonga Road. Police said the man was possibly suffering from an overdose, causing the fall. He was transported to Huntington Hospital by Northport Rescue.

At 7:26 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious event in which a woman returned to her Burr Avenue home to find her side gate open, a window screen taken down and her bedroom closet door open. Police said nothing was missing from the home and there was no sign of ransacking.

Sunday, Aug. 27

At 3:14 p.m., police received a report of petty larceny in which a woman's bag left on a Main Street bench went missing. The woman said someone removed her car keys and left them on the bench, but stole her bag containing an iPhone, a steel bowl and dog food. The items missing have an estimated value of $700.
