'Silly Love Bug' Kari: Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week
Kari, an 8-month-old female, was left behind when her family moved. "She is ready to start her new life with a loving family."

NORTHPORT, NY — Kari, an 8-month-old female, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kitten of the Week.
Kari was left behind when her family moved out of their home, said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.
"She was seen by neighbors wandering around on her front lawn, the only home she ever knew," Wild said. "When one of our directors went to rescue her, Kari came right up to her, meowing and asking to be picked up. She was scared and confused, but still the sweetest little girl. She was very vocal and seemed to be telling us what happened and thanking us for rescuing her."

She went into foster care, where she snuggled up with her foster parents, according to Wild.
"She loves affection, attention and is a total purring machine," Wild said. "When it was time to come to our habitats at Petco Commack, she was shy at first but has since come out of her shell and is a silly love bug that enjoys playing with the other cats. She is ready to start her new life with a loving family that will never leave her behind again."
