'Super Sweet' Mario And Daisy: Northport Adoptable Pets Of The Week
Mario and Daisy, nearly 1-year-old bonded siblings, were shy after being rescued from outside. "These sweet souls have come so far."

NORTHPORT, NY — Mario and Daisy, bonded siblings who are nearly 1 year old, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.
They were born in May 2024 and are "super sweet," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.
"Mario and Daisy are growing up in rescue," Wild said. "They have been with us since they were babies and have not had even one application. These sweet souls have come so far. After being rescued from outside, they were so scared that they sat in a corner hissing at anyone that tried to get near them. Usually, Daisy hiding behind her brother Mario."

The two went into an "amazing foster home," and after their foster family worked with them for some time, they suddenly started to trust and enjoy the love from people, according to Wild. They are still a bit shy, however.
"They will need someone to be a little patient with them until they are comfortable when adopted; but they are ready for their forever home and must stay together," Wild said. "They just need someone to take a chance on them!"

They are silly and love to play, Wild said.
"Mario has the funniest personality, and Daisy makes the best love biscuits ever. They crave attention and get along with other cats, too. They cuddle up together and watch as other cats come and go, but still patiently wait their turn."
They have been in all of the rescue's habitats at three different locations, but no one has shown interest in them yet, Wild said.
They are currently at Petco Commack, just waiting for someone to notice them.
"Please share their story, so that they don’t spend their entire kittenhood in a cage," Wild said.

Mario and Daisy are neutered or spayed, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
If you are interested in meeting Daisy or Mario, you may head to the Northport Cat Rescue website and fill out an application to let them know you would like to meet them or any of the rescue's other wonderful kittens and cats.
