'Sweet Caroline': Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week
Caroline, a 2-year-old female who lost her home in a fire, craves kindness and love. Would you like to meet her?

NORTHPORT, NY — "Sweet" Caroline, a long-haired female, estimated to be around 2 years old, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cat of the Week.
Caroline lost her home to a fire, where she was trying to survive outside until she was rescued, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.
"She is now safe and loved and is slowly losing the sadness in her eyes," Wild said. "This beauty is calm and very affectionate. All she wants is to be pet and lay next to her people."

Caroline makes the "best air biscuits" and does well with other cats, too, Wild said.
"Imagine being so loving and loved and losing the only home and family you ever had," Wild said. "Animals do grieve, and Caroline certainly was very confused and sad upon her arrival. After decompressing and feeling safe and loved, she is ready for her new home."

The "absolutely beautiful" Carline is currently at Petco Huntington.
"She has not come out to play yet, but whenever our wonderful volunteers arrive, she is ready for her affection," Wild said. "She is still a little confused as to what happened to her world but has not lost her desire for kindness and love. In fact, she craves it."
Sweet Caroline is spayed, has all her shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
