'Sweet, Loving, Playful' Sheena: Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week
Sheena, a 1-year-old, gave birth to a litter of kittens and then acted as a surrogate mother. "Now it is her turn to be taken care of."

NORTHPORT, NY — Sheena, a 1-year-old female, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kitten of the Week. She was born in January 2024.
"Sheena came to us pregnant, as just a kitten herself, and had her babies in rescue," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. "As young as she was, she was the most fabulous mom to her five kittens. Then, two orphan kittens needed a momma, and Sheena, without hesitation, was a surrogate to two newborn baby girls. She loved them like her own. Aren’t animals amazing? Sheena is sweet, loving, and playful, and now it is her turn to be taken care of."
She has been waiting patiently for her forever home while her babies each get adopted, Wild said.

"Sheena really is still just a kitten and is so calm and gentle," Wild said. "She is wonderful with other cats and even dogs, too. The minute she is pet, she starts to purr. She is petite and adorable."
Sheena is currently at Petco Commack, observing all the shenanigans of her kitten friends from her habitat, according to Wild.

"We think she gets joy out of watching them play but really is just looking for a safe home and a loving lap," Wild said. "The minute she is pet, she starts to purr. She is petite and adorable. We are so hoping someone will just give her a chance."

Sheena is spayed, has all her shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
