Northport Defeats Port Washington in Class A Long Island Championships.

Behind the dominant faceoff wins by Tyler Kuprianchik, Northport High School defeated Paul D. Schreiber Senior High School of Port Washington 13-9 in the Class A 2022 Long Island Boys Lacrosse Championships at Hofstra University’s James M. Shuart Stadium on Saturday, June 4.
Registering 19 of 25 faceoffs, many of which directly led to goals, senior faceoff/midfielder Kuprianchik received the game's James C. Metzger MVP Award.
The award was presented by James C. Metzger, a 1970s Long Island lacrosse star and now a lacrosse benefactor who received the 1977 Lt. Ray Enners Award as outstanding Suffolk County player and then was an All-American at Hofstra University. A member of the Hofstra Athletics Hall of Fame and the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame, Metzger is founder, chairman and CEO of Whitmore – The Agency, a leading insurance services and estate planning company in the New York metropolitan area that is headquartered in Garden Cit.
