BROOKLYN, NY — A neighborhood fixture for decades, Steve’s C-Town in Park Slope is closing down for good, leaving locals to say goodbye to a longtime grocery staple.

The longtime grocery store has operated out of a three-story building at 329 9th Street, nestled between 5th and 6th Avenues, since it first opened in 1970. While the market is set to close soon, an exact closing date has not yet been announced.

Signs posted on the storefront advertise a 25% discount on all items, excluding alcohol. With produce running low and shelves increasingly bare, the closure appears to be just around the corner.

The café opened a little over five years ago, just ahead of the COVID-19 pandemic, and quickly became a beloved spot in the Park Slope community. It operates from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends.

A sign posted outside on Monday announced that the café would be shutting down soon, but no official date was given.
