These Park Slopers Are The Most Powerful People In Brooklyn: Rank
City & State released its annual Brooklyn Power 100 list for 2021. Here are the Park Slope figures that were among the top-ranked.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Given current leaders of the city and the U.S. Senate, it should come as no surprise that Park Slopers scored high on this year's list of the most powerful people in the borough.
Mayor Bill de Blasio, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and the likely next New York City Comptroller, Council Member Brad Lander, all ranked in or near the top 10 most powerful people in this year's Brooklyn Power 100, which ranks the political power players in the borough.
Those and other non-Park Slope leaders — such as the state attorney general, the city's public advocate and the all but certain next mayor — are the reasons Brooklyn is "busting at the seams with political power," according to the City & State list.

"Add it all up, and the borough has a strong claim as the political epicenter of New York, if not nationally," the outlet wrote.
The top-ranked figure in Brooklyn's list is de Blasio, who is likely gracing the number one spot for the last time given his six months left in Gracie Mansion.

Schumer, who ranked first on this year's overall New York City power list, was named the third-most powerful figure in Brooklyn.
The second spot went to Borough President Eric Adams, who all but certainly will become the city's next mayor.
Rounding out the top 10 was Attorney General Letitia James, U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, District Attorney Eric Gonzalez, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, U.S. Rep. Nydia Velázquez, Brooklyn Democratic Party Chair Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn and U.S. Rep. Yvette Clarke.
Lander, the Democratic nominee for comptroller, landed in the number 11 spot.

"City & State’s latest Brooklyn Power 100 list recognizes not only the borough’s leading politicians, but also the business and nonprofit executives, real estate developers, labor leaders, advocates, activists, academics and others who live and work in Brooklyn," the outlet writes.
