PATCHOGUE, NY — Mayor Paul Pontieri declared a state of emergency in the Village of Patchogue on Sunday, advising all motorists to park their vehicles off the streets.

The declaration is allowed in the event of significant snow and ice in the village.

Mother Nature dumped up to eight inches of snow in areas around Long Island.
