PATCHOGUE, NY—The return of the popular Patchogue Village street festival Alive After Five is being welcomed by many as a sign of a return to normalcy after two years of the street fair being virtual or scaled down due to the pandemic.

The Greater Patchogue Village Chamber of Commerce posted on Facebook last Friday simply "It's back!" and judging by the numbers of comments and likes, the news was welcome.

David Kennedy, Patchogue's Chamber president, told Greater Long Island that the chamber will propose four dates: July 14 and 28 and Aug. 5 and 25.

He also explained that this year's Alive After Five will incorporate some elements of last summer's family-friendly Sundown Festival. Alive After Five has historically had live music, beer tents, arts, activities and food trucks and stands. The Chamber will release more details soon, they say.
