Bellport Gas Station Employee Busted For Selling Tobacco To Underage Agent: Police

The investigation was initiated in response to community complaints, Suffolk police say.

BELLPORT, NY — A 29-year-old employee of a Bellport gas station was charged in connection with selling tobacco products to a minor on Saturday, Suffolk police said.

In response to community complaints, Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers began an investigation
into Gulf Gas, at around 10:30 a.m., and an underage agent purchased tobacco products from the
business, according to police.

The employee was charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a minor, and was issued a field appearance ticket, and scheduled for arraignment at a later date, police said.
