Blue Point To Open New Brewery In Patchogue

The Blue Point Brewing Company's new Patchogue location will open in April.
The new 54,000-square-foot location, which owners said cost around $40 million to build, will have a tasting room, restaurant and fresh oyster bar. It will be at the location of the former Briarcliffe College in Patchogue and is set to open on April 15.
"This new facility will not only increase our brewing capacity, but will also let beer lovers experience the people and place that inspire Blue Point every day. And we're pretty damn proud to be a part of that," the company announced on its website.

The Blue Point Brewing Company was started in 1998 when, according to the company's website, "two friends who noticed a lack of fresh beer on Long Island and wanted to lower their bar tabs. " Now, the company started by Mark Burford and Peter Cotter is the biggest craft beer maker on Long Island.
In 2014, Blue Point was acquired by Anheuser-Busch for $25 million.
