E-Bike Rider Seriously Injured In Suffolk Crash: Police
The crash took place Wednesday evening, police say.
EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — An e-bike rider was seriously injured in an East Patchogue crash Wednesday, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at 5:22 p.m. on Circle Drive East, near Barton Avenue. A man, 60, of East Patchogue, was driving a 2009 Acura southbound on Circle Drive East, near Barton Avenue, when a westbound Letric Xpress 750 turning onto the road from Barton Avenue struck the vehicle, police said.
The E-bike rider, Joseph Bourque, 57, of East Patchogue, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital –
Suffolk in Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries, police said. The driver of the Acura was not injured, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
