LI Man Gets 20-Year Prison Sentence For Sexually Abusing 8 Children
Angel Tacuri pleaded guilty to abusing the children over five years at his wife's unlicensed Patchogue day care center.
PATCHOGUE, NY — A Patchogue man who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing eight children at his wife's day care center received a prison sentence of 20 years on Thursday.
Angel Tacuri, 53, was also sentenced to 20 years of post-prison supervision, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced.
“This defendant took the innocence of small children and traumatized them in the process to satisfy his depraved desires and that is something they will never have back,” Tierney said in a statement.

“This extensive sentence guarantees the defendant will no longer be able to harm any more children and ensures he will be monitored for years after he is released from prison.”
Tacuri admitted to abusing the children, ages three to 10 years old, between 2010 and 2015. After he was first indicted in June 2021, two more victims came forward and his charges were increased.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First
Degree, one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree and two counts of Sexual Abuse in
the First Degree.
