Assemb. Joseph DeStefano Has Been Reelected To The 3rd AD: Newsday
He garnered 25,213 votes or 63.99 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Suffolk County Board of Elections.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Votes in New York's 3rd Assembly District were still being tallied Wednesday morning, though Newsday has declared Assemb. Joseph DeStefano the winner of the race.
He was challenged by political newcomer Trina Miles, a Mastic Democrat.

As of 9:44 a.m.:
- Joseph DeStefano (Republican, Conservative): 25,213 votes or 63.99 percent of the vote
- Trina Miles (Democrat): 14,146 votes or 35.90 percent of the vote
Communities in the 3rd Assembly District include Brookhaven, Coram, East Patchogue, Farmingville, Fire Island, Gordon Heights, Holtsville, Mastic, Medford, Middle Island, Bellport, North Bellport, North Patchogue, Ridge, Selden, Shirley, and Yaphank.
