Man, 76, Charged With DWI After Head-On Crash In Yaphank: Police

YAPHANK, NY — A 76-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night after Suffolk police say he was involved in a head-on crash involving drunken driving in Yaphank.

The man, who is from Medford, was driving a 2016 Dodge Caravan southbound in the northbound lane of Yaphank-Middle Island Road, at the intersection of Rustic Road, when his vehicle crashed with another vehicle at around 9:45 p.m., according to police.

There were no serious injuries, but the man was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.
