Missing North Bellport Girl Found in Virginia: Police
Iyanna Farris, 10, was found in Alexandria unharmed. Police are investigating her motive for her attempt to head to Georgia.
NORTH BELLPORT, NY — A North Bellport girl who was reported missing by family members on Monday was found late Tuesday evening several states over in Alexandria, Virginia. Iyanna Farris, 10, who intentionally left her home via a rideshare, was found unharmed, police said.
Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives do not have a motive for why Farris, who was said to be traveling to Georgia in black pajamas, left her Americus Avenue home via rideshare, where she was later dropped off at West Columbia Street in Hempstead, or how she managed to get to the Old Dominion state.
Police say there are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
