1. During an overnight sobriety checkpoint, seven drivers were arrested at the intersection of Waverly Avenue and Sunrise Highway North Service Road in Patchogue. The New York Police State checked a total of 400 vehicles. (Long Island.com)
   
2. The Patchogue For The Performing Arts features the Cher Show. For those who want to go down memory lane and enjoy the best hits from the 90s, the concert is happening on Sunday, Aug.28, starting at 7 p.m. (Unation)
3. On Aug. 27 marks a year since the death of Long Islander Gabby Petito, and her father, Joseph Petito, asks the community to light a candle in her memory and honor those victims of domestic violence. Since Petito's death, the family has been helping others to escape abusive relationships through a foundation created in her memory. (Patch)
