Patchogue-Medford Library Starts 50-Book Reading Challenge
Do you think you can read 50 books this year?

Reading more is always a good New Year's resolution, but the Patchogue-Medford Library wants to push that even further.
The library launched an Extreme Book Challenge, which will run from Jan. 2 to Dec. 20, and challenges people to read 50 books.
In order to complete the challenge, readers must complete one book from 50 of the library's suggested categories, which include your favorite book of all time, a book with food in it, a banned book, a history book and more.

Books read for any other reading program or book club can be counted toward this challenge as long as they fit into one of the categories and are done by Dec. 20.
And, if you're start to get tired, audiobooks count, too, according to the library.

All books must be recorded in your Extreme Book Challenge reading log with the title and author for each book listed with each category.
According to the library, reading logs can be in any form but not on smart phones.
Participants who finish the challenge by December 20, 2019 will receive an exclusive Extreme Book Challenge hoodie.
Teens who want to participate but are already bogged down from school reading only need to read 25 books. Books beyond the required 25 will not be counted toward another challenge nor will another prize be awarded.
