  1. The Village of Patchogue will replace the wooden bulkheads at Patchogue's Shorefront Park with stones and a marsh to help prevent floods. The innovative system will be an experiment and model for other areas on Long Island to see if that method effectively prevents coastline floods. A groundbreaking is set for Jan. 24. The $3,741,980 project is expected to be completed by Memorial Day. (Newsday)

The HIICAP Suffolk community program will be hosted on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Patchogue-Medford Public Library in assistance of those who need help understanding what Medicare and Medicaid have to offer.   3. Town of Brookhaven Parks & Recreation department heads into 2023 with winter classes in various locations. There will be dance and exercise events for all ages. If interested, you can visit the link I've shared to check the dates and locations. (TBR News Media)
  4. For the fans of the 'Beetlejuice' movie, a unique event offers a movie experience before the screening of the 1988 classic!
