Here are the top stories today in Patchogue:
- Patchogue residents come out for the Christmas Tree Lighting event at New Village. Live music, hot drinks, cupcakes, and photos with Santa rocked the night. Would you like to see scenes of the event? The link I've shared takes you to a photo gallery on the Greater Patchogue website. (Greater Long Island)
- Candles were lit at Patchogue Shorefront Park in support of parents who lost a child. Christa Morris organized the event, featuring thousands of battery votive candles in jars with the names of the children who were remembered. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- This is the season to rock ugly sweaters in the Village of Patchogue! The ugly sweater crawl kicks off on Dec. 15. Participants will find great deals while barhopping on Main Street! Click on the link to learn about this event, including ticket information. (Patchogue Patch)
- The holiday season is an excellent time to seek ways to make life better for those around us. Ava's Wreaths fundraiser was created four years ago by Ava McKiernan, who wants to help homeless veterans on Long Island. The wreaths are sold for $15 each, with all proceeds donated to institutions on the Island. (Long Island News12)
