'Pray For Our Family That Justice Is Served': Long Island Woman Raising Funds For Slain Brother's Funeral

Christopher Millwater would show up for "anyone in need," Corinne Millwater wrote on GoFundMe.

LONG ISLAND, NY — The family of a man found slain in Stony Brook this week are asking for prayers that justice be served as they appealed to the community on GoFundMe for help in laying him to rest.

Christopher Millwater, 52, of Selden was found "injured" and the apparent "victim of violence" in front of a location on Shore Road at around 3:40 a.m. on Monday, and then taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Suffolk police said.

In a poignant post on the fundraising platform, his sister, Corinne Millwater, said that one of the most difficult things for her to do is humble herself, but she and her family are "in need."

"We have suffered a lot of loss over the past few years," she said. "This loss being the greatest."

"Those of you who know him know that he showed up for anyone in need," she said. "At this time, my family is in need of donations solely to cover the cost of funeral expenses. We understand that not all are able to donate, but [I]would appreciate that you share, and also pray for our family, that justice is served."'
