Retired MMA Star Opening Tea Bar On Long Island
Kava Tea will open on Long Island this summer.

A retired MMA star is trading in his punching bags for tea bags.
Ryan LaFlare, who fought professionally from 2008 to 2018, announced he is opening Kava Tea in Patchogue this summer.
The Lindenhurst native said he decided to open the tea bar when he realized Long Island doesn't have any kava bars.

Kava tea is made from kava, which is an extract of a plant native to the western Pacific Islands. Its said to calm anxiety and help with insomnia.
Kava Tea will open in the space formerly occupied by SubZero at 38 West Main St.
