Suffolk Fire Officials Launch 'See Something, Say Something' Campaign
The public should remain aware of their surroundings and report anything that seems out of place, FRES officials say.
YAPHANK, NY — Suffolk's Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services has issued an advisory reminding all residents, businesses, and community partners to remain aware of their surroundings and report anything that seems out of place.
Agency officials said their mission is "to keep our communities safe and prepared."
“'See something, say something' is a simple but powerful message," the advisory said. "Every member of our community plays an important role in public safety. Staying alert and speaking up can make a difference."

The agency asked residents be mindful of unattended bags or packages in public places, vehicles parked in unusual locations or patterns, and people behaving strangely or attempting to access restricted areas. The agency also asked that residents be mindful of anyone recording, photographing, or drawing maps of infrastructure or secure areas without a clear reason.
If something doesn’t feel right, residents should not hesitate to report the incident because the tip could be a piece of a larger picture.
