Suffolk Man Nabbed After Bolting From Hit-And-Run Crash: Police
A woman was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police say.
SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A Middle Island man has been arrested in connection with bolting from the scene of a motor vehicle crash that seriously hurt a woman in Patchogue on Wednesday night, Suffolk police said.
Bryam Moscoso Gomez was driving a 2009 Honda Accord southbound on Route 112, just north of Barton Avenue, when it struck a woman as she was crossing the roadway from east to
west at around 8:35 p.m., according to police.
The victim, a 42-year-old Lake Ronkonkoma woman, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was airlifted by police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

A patrol officer from the 5th Precinct in Patchogue found the Honda on the westbound Sunrise Highway service road at Chestnut Avenue in Patchogue and arrested Moscoso Gomez just before 10 p.m., according to police.
Major Case Unit detectives have charged Moscoso Gomez, 25, of Middle Island, with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious physical injury.

He is being held overnight at the 6th Precinct in Selden and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
