Suffolk Sheriff's Office To Give Out Nearly 1K Toys And PJs On Sunday

There will be free hot chocolate, and a library system bus decorated with lights and a fireplace for holiday photos.

YAPHANK, NY — Nearly 1,000 new toys and pajamas will be given out at the Suffolk Sheriff’s Office’s START Resource Center in Yaphank on Sunday.

Toys, pajamas, sneakers, and other items will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, but children must be present to receive them. Free hot chocolate from Walmart will be served.

The Suffolk Cooperative Library System will also have its SLED mobile outreach bus on site. It will be outfitted with lights, a faux fireplace, and festive decorations, so that visitors can walk through to take holiday family photos.

The event, held in collaboration with EJ’s PJs, Toys for Tots, True North Community Church, and Helping Makes You Happy.

All are welcome, while supplies last.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 200 Glover Avenue in Yaphank.
