Suffolk Woman Intentionally Struck 1 With Vehicle: Police

It happened after an argument in a parking lot in Bellport on Saturday, police say.

BELLPORT, NY — A Coram woman was charged with assault after Suffolk police say she intentionally struck a woman with her vehicle outside a restaurant in North Bellport early Saturday morning.

Following an argument between two women in a parking lot on Montauk Highway at around 3:40 a.m., Philomena Mistretta got into her 2004 Toyota Sienna and intentionally struck the woman with the vehicle, according to police.

The woman, 63, was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue with serious injuries, police said.

Fifth Squad detectives charged Mistretta, 51, with first-degree assault.

She pleaded not guilty, and a temporary order of protection was issued at her arraignment, online court records show. Her bail was set at $75,000, $150,000 insured bond, or $750,000 partially secured surety bond, according to the records.
