Teenager Rescues Driver, 18, Who Accidentally Drove Into Patchogue Bay
Police say a Good Samaritan witnessed the car enter the water at South Ocean Ave.; both escaped unharmed.

PATCHOGUE, NY — Suffolk County police say that an 18-year-old woman who accidentally drove her car into Patchogue Bay was rescued by an onlooker on Tuesday night.
Mia Samolinksi, 18, accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake of a Subaru Outback around 10:10 p.m. in a South Ocean parking lot.
Anthony Zhongor, 17, saw the incident and dove into the water to open the driver's side door, police say. Zhongor, of Patchogue, was able to escort Samolinki, also of Patchogue, to the dock.

Both were unharmed.
Police responded to the incident, and the car was pulled from the water by a heavy duty wrecker.
