Woman Killed In Patchogue Apartment Fire
The woman's body was found inside the apartment after the fire was extinguished Wednesday evening, police say.
PATCHOGUE, NY — A woman was killed in a fire at a Patchogue apartment complex Wednesday evening, police said.
Fifth Precinct officers and members of the Patchogue Fire Department responded to 75 Rider Ave. after a 911 caller reported a fire at that location at 6:13 p.m.
When the fire was extinguished, an adult female was found dead inside the residence. Three apartments were damaged in the fire.

The name of the woman is being withheld pending positive identification. There was no one else in the residence at the time of the fire and no other injuries were reported.
A preliminary investigation has determined the cause of the fire to be non-criminal in nature, police said.
