Suspect Punches LI Woman In Face In Front Of Her Children, And Leaves On Scooter: Police

Her two children were in her vehicle with her at the time, Suffolk police say.

BELLPORT, NY — A woman was followed and punched in the face in front of her children by a suspect who had been riding an electric scooter in Bellport on Sunday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

A man riding an electric scooter followed a vehicle from Station Road to Farber Drive just after 3 p.m., when the driver, a 45-year-old woman, pulled into a parking lot on Farber Drive, and the man began banging on her vehicle window, according to police.

The woman then got out of the car, and the man punched her in the face, police said.

She did not require medical treatment, according to police.

The man is known to ride the scooter in Bellport, as well as on the Long Island Expressway, police said.

In an image pulled from video, the man can be seen riding a light-colored scooter while wearing a black helmet and tank top, as well as blue jeans.

The crime has been classified harassment, a misdemeanor.

Further details were not released.
