Woman Taken To Hospital After Car Catches Fire On Sunrise Highway: Police

She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Suffolk police say.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A 45-year-old woman was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital on Sunday night after her car caught fire on Sunrise Highway in Patchogue, Suffolk police said.

The woman was driving a 2022 Honda sedan eastbound on Sunrise Highway, near Exit 54, when it overheated and caught fire just before 11 p.m., according to police.

The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
