1 Killed, 1 Hurt In Northern State Crash
The crash occurred on Tuesday morning, State Police say.

One person was killed and another hurt after a vehicle veered off Northern State Parkway and struck a tree on Tuesday morning, State Police say.
According to authorities, a 2005 Toyota was traveling eastbound on Northern State Parkway, east of Exit 38 in Plainview, when the crash occurred at 6:43 a.m.
The driver, 48-year-old Bethpage resident Victor H. Alvarez, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, 23-year-old Bethpage resident Iris Y. Rodriguez, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.

The parkway was temporarily closed during the investigation on Tuesday morning. The investigation is continuing.
