3 Arrested After Stealing From Nassau County Clothing Donation Box: PD
The incident took place Sunday, police say.
BETHPAGE, NY — Three people were arrested after stealing clothing from a Nassau County donation box, police said.
According to Nassau County police, Eighth Squad detectives arrested three Copiague residents, ages 35, 24,and 16, and charged them after the theft, which took place on Sunday at 11:55 in Bethpage.
Detectives said the trio arrived at a Central Avenue address in a white 2009 Acura MDX. They removed clothing from a donation bin drop box and placed it into their vehicle, police said.

The three were arrested without incident, police said. One of the three, Fernando Martinez, 35, was found to have removed items from the same donation bin on a previous date, police said.
The first two defendants were charged with petty larceny; Martinez was also arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny, police said.

They were scheduled for arraignment Monday at First District Court in Hempstead; the juvenile was issued an appearance ticket for petty larceny, returnable to Family Court on January 13, 2025, police said.
