ACLD Foundation’s Golf Outing Event Raises $121,000
ACLD Recognizes Honoree Peter Donohue

The ACLD Foundation recently hosted its Annual Golf Outing, with 32 golf foursomes and over 140 guests gathered at the Glen Head Country Club to raise $121,000. The picturesque setting laid the foundation for a perfect day for golf and to celebrate this year’s honoree, Peter Donohue, Partner at Sandbar Builders, LLC.
Donohue recently facilitated the completion of The Alan & Ellen Spiegel Children’s Center expansion last year. The $2.5 million project added four classrooms and connected the gym to the school building located in Bay Shore, NY. Donohue has also worked on various projects within the agency at the Kramer Learning Center, ACLD offices, as well as numerous ACLD residences around Long Island. His next project will be installing generators in residences as part of ACLD’s Generator Campaign. “With each project I have the opportunity to work on, I am reminded of the vital role ACLD plays in so many lives. I am truly humbled and grateful that my company has the opportunity to support ACLD's mission to provide an enviable life to all,” said Donohue.
“We are honored to recognize Peter and look forward to a continued relationship,” said ACLD President/CEO Robert Ciatto.
One standout moment of the evening was a speech given by Jill Gonzalez, an ACLD clerk and resident of an ACLD home. During the program, Gonzalez shared the impact ACLD has on her life. “I have lived at [an ACLD] home for over 30 years. I am so grateful for the trips I have gotten to take and the activities I do with my housemates, but most of all, I am grateful for all of the memories I have made with my [ACLD] family,” said Gonzalez.
