Box Truck Catches Fire On Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway: PHOTOS

PLAINVIEW, NY — Hours before a truck burst into flames on the Long Island Expressway in Plainview, a box truck caught fire on the southbound lanes of the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway near the Northern State Parkway, officials said.

Plainview firefighters arrived to the blaze around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The Syosset Fire Department also responded with a fire engine under their dual response agreement. Syosset Engine 585 arrived at the scene first and extinguished the blaze, which had broken out in the brakes and cooled the brakes down.

No injuries were reported.
