Chemical Spill Forces Temporary Evacuation Of Nassau Hotel: Police

PLAINVIEW, NY — A hotel in Plainview had to close briefly on Monday afternoon due to a chemical spill, Suffolk police said.

Police were called to the Homewood Suites on Round Swamp Road for a "hazmat situation" at approximately 1:40 p.m.

An employee spilled pool chemicals and was transferred to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
