Cops: Man Drove Drunk, Hits Pole in Woodbury
The crash occurred early Tuesday, police say.

Nassau Police in Woodbury rescued a man who lost control of his vehicle and struck a telephone pole before landing in a ditch early Tuesday.
Now police say the driver of that car, Jeffrey Rausa of Bayville, NJ, faces charges of driving while intoxicated.
Police say Rausa was driving southwest on Woodbury Road at the time of the crash. Nassau County Emergency Services Officers extracated Rausa from the car before air-lifting him to an area hospital for treatment for his non-life threatening injuries.

A passenger in the car, a 32-year-old man from New Jersey, was transported to an area hospital for treatment for a minor wrist injury, according to police .
Rausa is charged with second degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and driving while intoxicated. He will have a bedside arraignment as soon as practical, according to police.
