65-Year-Old Woman Dies After Fire Sweeps Through Plainview Home

PLAINVIEW, NY — A 65-year-old woman was found dead inside a Plainview home after flames swept through the building Saturday afternoon. The blaze broke out around 12:40 p.m. Saturday on Audrey Avenue, near Parkview Street.

The Plainview Fire Department responded to the blaze along with an engine from the Syosset Volunteer Fire department. Multiple Departments from Hicksville, Bethpage, Syosset, Farmingdale, Jericho and Melville also rushed to the scene.

A 65-year-old woman who lived in the home was found dead in an upstairs bedroom of the two-story home, police said.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, though it has been deemed not criminal in nature.
