Man And Woman Dead After Double Stabbing At Bethpage Deli, Suspect In Custody: Police

The man and woman were found unresponsive in the Bethpage deli Thursday, police say.

BETHPAGE, NY — A man is in custody after two people were found dead after a double stabbing in a Bethpage deli on Thursday morning, police said.

Nassau County police said they responded to A & A Italian Deli and Pizzeria on Hicksville Road at 9:11 a.m., where they observed a woman, 62, and a man, 70, unresponsive with stab wounds.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Police located a man, 30, and placed him under arrest, NCPD said.

Police have yet to confirm the names of the pair who were found fatally injured. The investigation is ongoing.
