WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport), in conjunction with the Nassau County Department of Assessment, announces the return of in-person Property Tax Exemption Workshops for First Legislative District residents. During the workshops, Department of Assessment staff will assist residents with filing for the following exemptions:

- Veterans
- Senior citizens
- Cold War Veterans
- Volunteer firefighter and ambulance workers
- Limited-income disability and/or home improvement exemptions
- Enhanced STAR applications will also be processed for homeowners already enrolled in the STAR program prior to Jan. 2, 2015.
To ensure the health and safety of employees and residents, this year’s workshops are by appointment only. Homeowners are asked to make an appointment by calling 516-571-1500 or visiting www.nassaucountyny.gov/assessment and using the appointment scheduler link. All workshops are from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. (last appointment is at 2:45 p.m.).
